As we get older and our needs change, it is sometimes necessary to move away from our homes and families and into an environment where daily care is managed by caring professionals, enabling our elderly to live comfortably.
We have an activities planner who carefully arranges interesting things for our patients to do depending on their physical capabilities. There is always someone to talk to and something to do or see at Lynton Lodge Hospital.
We aim to maintain optimum mobility for our residents. We have qualified physiotherapists on duty 5 days a week. We have exercises such as stretching and passive mobilising for dependent residents. We also have walks around the neighbourhood for less dependent residents. On Tuesday mornings we provide a 45 minute exercise class in conjunction with our Divisional Therapist combining music, exercise and play
Our menus are overseen by a professional dietician. Our qualified chef prepares meals with fresh, seasonal produce. He also uses ingredients from our herb garden. He spends time with residents and their families to understand their food preferences and prepares special diets to meet individual needs
Our Diversional therapist schedules activities and events. These include crosswords, bingo, bowls, movement, music, word games and the very popular trivia quizzes. We also have weekly bus trips and church services. We also organise birthday parties for our residents.
